Labour Day Monday (1999) I packed up the car with Lynn and the kids and we drove out to RVRHS to have a look around. The forces of time, circumstance and the persistence of an ever softening memory made the arrival an inevitable let down. The side walk cracks have weeds sprouting up in them, the concrete benches have seen much better days, the moat (for those of you who went there when there was a moat) has been filled in. Beige air conditioners and snake black pipes cling to the walls of A Block. From what I could see inside the murals in A Block and in the cafeteria have been covered over in favour of industrial flavour paint. I hope you enjoy the photos. If you look carefully you will see a bats nest on the side of the building. This is Admin entrance again. |

If you lived in Otterburn or parts of St.Hilaire you passed by Campbell Manor everyday. It is now a 4 star hotel called Manoir Rouville-Campbell. It was feature in the movie Hotel New Hampshire and also did a stint as an artist studio for Quebec sculptor Jorde Bonnet. |
