I was from the '67 graduating class at William McMaster. Now living "the country life" ...well sort of ..in historic Unionville, Ontario. After many years in the computer business and perhaps too many years of traveling, I "retired" in 2001 after marrying a wonderful lady from Hong Kong (Winnie) then decided I had a whole bunch of other things I wanted to do in life so I unretired myself and now do some consulting, teaching and volunteering along with a healthy dose of community work. I often think about all the good times and great friends I was fortunate enough to know back in McMasterville and Beloeil and feel truly lucky and blessed for the experience!!! Oh yeah .....my brother Robbie still lives in Montreal and my three sisters Janet, Carole and Heather all live on Vancouver Island as does my mom (my grade 2 teacher ...perhaps yours too?)

Ken Steacy steacy@shaw.ca
Hi, Gang! After leaving the halcyon halls of RVRHS in 1972 I moved to Germany, where my dad had been transferred to a NATO base at Ramstein. Thanx to the vagueries of the school system, I graduated from high school again in Baden, this time from grade 13. I worked for the USAF for a year in a paint shop in order to pay for art school, first a year at Sheridan College in Oakville, then three more at The Ontario College of Art in Tranna. There I studied film and video, but drove my profs nuts by turning in comic strips instead of film or video. They finally figured out what I was up to and awarded me a pile of scholarships, including the Lieutenant Governor's medal. I'd decided at age eleven to become a professional comic book artist (some of you may remember my sketchy work for CROW magazine!) and pursued that intent until the magic moment occurred in 1974 with the publication of SUPER STUDENT, a two page strip that I had actually started while living in St. Bruno.

Since then I've written and illustrated the exploits of practically every pop-culture character you could name, including ASTRO BOY, BATMAN, SUPERMAN, SPIDER-MAN and the X-MEN. I also worked for many years with LUCASFILM, producing stories and computer-rendered illustrations for STAR WARS children's books, and have collaborated on numerous occasions with author Douglas Coupland. A series of my paintings depicting the peacetime activities of navigators in the Canadian Armed Forces is part of the permanent collection of the National War Museum in Ottawa, and in 2000 Chronicle Books released BRIGHTWORK, a celebration of classic American car ornamentation which I wrote, designed and art directed. More recently, I produced the display artwork for the SPACE PLACE gallery at Edmonton's Odyssium, designed the sets and promotional material for a production of WEST SIDE STORY, painted a stack of HARRY POTTER trading cards, and then returned to comics, this time teaching english to adventurous Japanese travellers.

I'm very happily married to sculptor Joan Steacy, and we're about to celebrate our 25th anniversary here in Victoria, BC. We have two terrific kids, Alex and Raymond, and together we've launched TOM McBOMB PRODUCTIONS INC. a content provider for digital video, on-demand books & periodicals, and other way-cool stuff. Please gimme a shout at steacy@shaw.ca - cheers!

Hi to everyone from rvrhs '74

Nancy Walter nancy@hulagirldesign.com
Since 1990 I have been living in Encinitas 30 miles north of San Diego, in California with my 2 dogs Binky and Scarlett. I live close to the beach and the average temperature is 72 all year round (during the day). It's lovely. I have my own Graphic Design business and work from home, where I have converted 2 bedrooms and the entire garage into a great office.

From 1984 to 1990 I lived in and around New York city. I also had a Graphic Design business there, but I desperately wanted a house and dogs and chose the west coast.

I do yoga every day and can honestly say I am generally happy and love my life. Sometimes I think of moving back to Canada, but then I look outside and come back to reality.

I moved to Toronto in 1977 and met my lovely wife Michelle. We moved to B.C. in 1980 as that is where the RCMP sent me. We have to lovely children, Amber (85-05-01) and Paul (88-07-19). We are still in B.C. and I'm still in the RCMP in Protective Services (VIP). The only one I'm still in touch with is Pic (Brian Piccioni).

Life continues to surprise me! Last December I was laid out again with back pain, an ongoing problem for the last 10 years. I had been corresponding with a lady I dated while back in Mtl between 1985-1989. Over the months and long distance bills we both realized there were still strong feelings there. To make a long story short, I went back to Mtl in May and helped her sort through her 'stuff' as we would be combining our collective 'stuff' here in Calgary. We left Mtl on June 8 and were married in our living room on July 2, 2004. She is the love of my life!

I found this site when searching to see if my name showed up anywhere on the internet. I often wonder what happened to everyone I knew back in high school, and I'm glad I found the site.

After RVRHS I went through the Health Sciences program at Champlain College and got hooked on computers in the process. A degree in computer science came next from Concordia University.

After graduation I followed my family to Oakville, Ontario when my father's job with Pratt & Whitney took him there. These days I live in the Streetsville area of Mississauga, Ontario.

Since 1987 I have worked as a programmer/analyst at CIBA Vision in the contact lens industry. I met Kathleen at work in 1998 and we were married in 2000. I have a step daughter, Renée, who will be 13 soon.

I spend my free time relaxing (when possible), following motorsports (F1 & Champcars mostly), woodworking, making home brew, and reading sci-fi.

Samis, Andrew J.W. alsamis@hotmail.com
I think this website is an excellent idea. Since leaving RVR I completed Grade 13 in Ontario, and then went onto complete a Bachelor's and Master's degree at Queen's University. I followed this with an MD. I then completed a residency in General Surgery, and then achieved qualifications in a second medical specialty by completing a fellowship in Intensive Care Unit Medicine. I currently work as a surgeon, ICU physician and medical researcher at Queen's University and Kingston General Hospital

Doug Dable douggiffin@cogeco.ca
Hi All, First the name change, Dable was my step-fathers name and after H.S. changed it back to my birth name of Giffin. Attended RVR until '82 then moved to Longueuil and graduated from Lemoyne D'Iberville in '84. Spent many years working various jobs, travelling and playing music all with an elevated state of conciousness in mind. Wrote and recorded a bunch of music with people like Marc Viger, Jean-Marc Gellatly,Brett Zilahi, Gordon Suffield and Steve Petitpas. Had a lot of fun, worked really hard, spent a lot of money, never quite made it. Still hang out with Marc,Brett,Gordie and JM whenever we get a chance.
It's amazing 20 years has passed, sorry to all that I couldn't make the reunion. It would have been good to see you all.
Moved to Toronto in '98 where I've been working selling guitars in the largest music store and guitar shop in Canada-Long & McQuade on Bloor St. I'm still there. Absolute heaven for a guitar nut like me.
In 1999, I married my long-time partner and high school crush Charlene King (sister of Wayne and Kenny) and we now live in Oakville, Ontario. We have a beautiful little girl named Kyhanna who was born on Dec. 13, 2001. We've been together now for over 14 years and we're still in love and still having fun. We've added our own home-based business to the mix and we plan to retire permanently from the working world very soon.
Definately love to hear from anyone from back in the day. So drop us a line, let us know where your at and what you're doing.

Allan East allan.east@uregina.ca
Unbelievable! Dudes! A 20th anniversary reunion. It is destined to be a totally non-heinous affair. Hey, I only went to the school one year but I'm pretty sure I'm going to the reunion. I would love to hear from fellow RVRers. I wrote to Rob Ipacs and Tim Sharbel last week and they still sound 17. (E-mail preserves youth! Print it in the school newspaper!) I now live in Regina, Saskatchewan, and will tell more at the reunion.

I am currently running a record label, graduating from University in Political Science, and applying to Law School and Graduate School respectively. I haven’t made up my mind which field I want to go into yet. Anyways, I trust all is well for the rest of you.

Went from RVR to Marianopolis, had a blast there, made some friends, played cards a little too much and ended up staying an extra year. In 2000, I made it to Concordia in mechanical engineering, made more friends, accomplished some pretty cool stuff, played less cards and will be graduating this June.

I am currently enjoying Canada from the most West possible... Victoria BC: where it's always sunny and flowers are present all year round. I doubt ever returning out east but I'd like to hear from some of you.
