RVRHS Alumni November 00
Newsletter
The newsletter distribution is on the way up again after taking a beating in
the subscription department through the summer. We are almost back to 400
regular subscribers which is kind of cool. I would like to thank everyone
who submitted new information and updated information to the site during the
past month it is greatly appreciated. For those of you who submitted
pictures - thank you very much. A short note to those who sent MS Word
documents. As a matter of course any MS Word document I receive is
shredded automatically I don't have the patience for virus scans because my
system is too slow. Please only send me something in plain text
format, html format or rich text format. Sorry for any
inconvenience.
Special thanks to everyone who submitted sites for the Best Of The Web page
that I have set up on GeekStreet.
Go to the main page of GeekStreet to
call up the list. Some very cool sites were suggested. More sites
will be added in the near future to create a small but useful list of web sites
that actually have something to offer.
If you wish to send me photographs or anything else via snail mail the

Securities. I keep in touch with a number of St Bruno and RVR friends but would love to hear from others. I now live in Calgary
Beverley McMullan (Class of 71) bev.kungl AT bmo.com
To all my friends... Well, it's almost 30 years later and I just wanted to let you know what has happened to me since leaving RVRHS. I was suppose to graduate in 1971, however, I went back the following year to obtain the two credits that I was missing (math was never my strong subject). After finally finishing school I became a model. In 1973 I started working for the Bank of Montreal and still did a bit of modeling on the side. I was transferred up to Toronto in 1978 - mainly because my parents had moved up two years prior and who are now retired and own a bed and breakfast in Picton, Ontario. I was married in 1982 and have two terrific teenagers: a daughter, Shannon, who is now 15 and my son, Christian, who just turned 17. Unfortunately, the marriage didn't last and I have been single for the last 13 years... and loving it. I've worked for the same company all these years and am currently working as a Computer Technical Consultant. I still keep in touch with two of my old friends, Brenda Johnston and Susan Shaw, who now both live in Calgary. For many years I was communicating with Lorraine (Lainey) Campbell, however, she moved without notifying me and we lost touch . While attending the first reunion for RVRHS I bumped into David Forbes, Emma Maton and Ken Fellows plus a few others. I would love to hear from all my friends from 1971 and 1972.
Brenda Perkins (Class of 71) bperkins AT icao.int

Graham Jackson (Class of 73) AJack712 AT aol.com
I was a pupil at RVRHS but left to return to England in 1972 before completing grade 11. I would really enjoy contacting any other pupils who remember me. I would particularly like to contact Robert Garnett amongst others.
Pam Clarke (Class of 73) patch AT videotron.ca
Married with 2 children in Greenfield Park. Looking for grads from 72 to 75.
Kathleen Tarbox (Class of 74) fontainel AT netc.net
I graduated in 1974 and moved to Edmonton in 1983. I have since moved back to Eastern Canada to Ottawa in 1997 on a job transfer. The company that I worked for in Ottawa was bought out by Global Television and they closed down the Ottawa office and I lost my job. I moved September 1st to Otterburn Park with my better half and long time friend, Lucien Fontaine, who also used to live in Beloeil. I would love to hear from old classmates and my new e-mail address is: fontainel AT netc.net.
Debbie Sarjeant (Class of 75) aweba AT cam.org
Debbie Sarjeant married Tom Gurr (Class of 74) and had 3 children with him. She divorced Tom and now lives happily with her three wonderful kids in St. Lazare/Hudson, Quebec
Patricia Topping (Class of 75)ptklein AT aol.com
I was living in the Montreal area for the 85 reunion, but since then we have moved to the U.S. (first to Florida, & now we are living in Des Moines, Iowa). Husband Marc is a cardiologist, daughter Jenny is 13 years old & daughter Julie is 11. Dog Rudy is 6 (my old friends will remember my stuffed dog Rudy). I am a nurse and now am a student -again- doing my graduate work in education & counseling.
Graham Taylor (Class of 75) I have followed a guiding principle since leaving Quebec in 1976 of always moving west when in doubt. Many moves later (Ottawa, Waterloo, Toronto [3 months of T-Zero was enough!], Calgary, Banff and Vancouver) I currently live in Deep Cove on the North Shore in BC. Sorry to hear there was not a 25th year reunion for the class of 1975 in 2000. However, I invite old classmates to email me at:
GKTaylor AT bc.sympatico.ca , and rendezvous for a powder run at Whistler this winter!!!!

Jonathan Crowe (Class of 77) here&now AT stjohns.cbc.ca
After graduation I went to Champlain and then to McGill. One of those guys who went to university for the beer and the intramural hockey. Graduated three and half years later with a Poli Sci degree.
Couldn't figure out what to do after graduation. I sold photocopiers (not many), worked in the mailroom at Electrolux Canada until I wormed my way into the CBC. I've worked there since 1985....I worked for Newswatch in Montreal as an associate producer. Then it was on to St. John's Nfld as a sports reporter. I'm now the justice reporter here. I'm married (eight years in December) and I have three daughters. Jennifer is seven, Sarah six, and Kathryn two.
I got all nostalgic looking at the pix of RVR...Yes I remember the moat, and sleeping the afternoon away in the long grass by the graveyard. If you're ever in St. John's give me a call at CBC... 709-576-5124.

Roman J Havlin (Class of 81) Havlinr AT sprint.ca
When I RVR I went to Cegep in Chicoutimi, where I graduated flight school and french school as a Commercial Airline Pilot. Spent 6 months travelling through europe, finally decided I should come back home, started a company and went back to finish off university. Met my wife to be in Marketing 101 at Concordia, we had a lot in common she just came back from 5 months in europe as well. After University, I sold my business married my wife, worked for an american consulting firm all over North America and in Europe in Business Process Re-engineering. After a short stint at Birks, I went back to consulting, and finally decided that having spent the last seven years in airplanes, I had enough airmiles and made the move to Montreal. I now head up Boutique Jacob's Process Improvement Department on the West Island. I live on the West Island with my Beautiful Wife Rubina, and my 7 year old next to be Wayne Gretzky, and Nintendo champion Milan, and my two year old precious jewel Yasmine, who's growing up much to fast. I have great fond memories from my time at RVR. Many friends that I still keep in contact with, but many more who I've lost touch with. Let me know what's up with you guys.

Hi Guys, Can't believe this site exists. Well as you are all aware by now "Anthem" never had a hit record. I gave up the drumming and went off to sea!! After a ten year stint in the marine transportation business I decided it was time for a career change. In 95 moved with my wife Lisa to Vermont to study culinary arts at the New England Culinary Institute. Graduated and went on an odyssey living in Florida, Canadian Rockies, Vancouver, Florida again. Working for the Four Seasons and Ritz Carlton hotel companies. I have fed everybody from Mick Jagger to Bill Clinton, even the great Ozzy Osborne - ANTHEM, ANTHEM!!! In 99 I excepted the position of Executive Chef for Means Street Productions in Atlanta GA producers of The Food Network TV show "Good Eats" where you can see me play a range of characters from the Mad French Chef to Cousin Ray. I just got back from 6 weeks in Italy where I co-starred with Chef Mario Batali on his new TV show "Mario Eats Italy" due to air Jan/2001. Great to see so many people happy and doing so well.

Paul Thibaudeau (Class of 88) hegemony AT sympatico.ca
Not too sure how many of you remember me...but what the hell. After serving my time at RVR I went to Champlain College and then moved with my folks to Ottawa in June of 1990. There I went to Carleton University where I met my wife, Janice, and then we moved to Toronto so I could do my PhD in archaeology. I now teach at Carleton University (funny how everything moves around in a circle). Many of the friends I had known at RVR (like Mike Pellicciotti and Robin Colliver) are all in Ottawa or close by. They were real pals in school and they've stayed pretty much the same. I, of course, am still cracking horrific jokes. If any of you RVRs ever want to chat...feel free to email me at the above address.

I'm in New Brunswick still and have been for the past 10 years and have no intentions on leaving. I'm working for a provincial organization that works for the intellectually challenged. My husband and I recently bought our first home. We are living in the country after 5 long years in the city. Hope to hear from you.
