After six years as an aircraft designer, I have spent the last ten running my own company, consulting in the same industry. I have consulted for most of the local aircraft companies, and have worked in the U.S. for Dassault, and in France for Airbus. A passion for airplanes also led to a pilot's license, though I don't own one yet. My wife of 7 years, Brigitte, a former contract administrator, assists me with my day to day business, while my children Matthew (4) and Chloe (21 mths) are my paycheck when I come home at night. Ilya Vreeken (Class of 80)
Our family left for America - Detroit, Michigan due to a company transfer prior to graduation. The family settled in a suburb of Detroit called Grosse Pointe (just can't get away from the French )! After several years my father was given the old handshake and job well done envelope with two sons in college (Wayne State University and Oakland University) and one son in high school . Percy, my older brother of two years, my father and myself decided to start our own company in 1981. It has since grown into a 350 person global plastics molding operation that supplies many industries - for details please visit our web site at - www.transnav.com  . Personally, I have a lovely wife of 8 years - Kelley Anne, two daughters - Kaitlyn Eileen (4.5) and Pasha Beate (3) and another child on the way - Life is good!
I have been very fortunate to have traveled the world in my work, my sailboat racing exploits and always having an itch to go places. I have been remiss in staying in contact with my friends in Canada. Denis B. contacting me has rekindled my interest in doing so, I would also like my family to see where I grew up. The future - well - the kids already have the travel bug, love to go boating, beat Daddy up in soccer have me cook them all the bad stuff Mom wont. My work has taken on a more executive form versus operational and I am still feeling out if that is really me. Travel is always on the agenda, as is a good beer and good conversation. I find myself seeking out new adventures and challenges and am in the process of putting together a team to compete in the Hi-tech adventure racing series. Life is short but memories are forever. If anybody remembers me or would like can contact me at - chilltaz AT aol.com  or transnav AT ameritech.net
